Tirana, Albania
AlNet is a social network and marketplace where posts, jobs, bids and messages travel directly between phones. Your feed is carried by the people around you — not stored on a company's servers and sold back to you.
One app for the things a neighbourhood already does — talking, hiring, buying and selling — built so those exchanges stay between the people making them.
Posts spread phone to phone across the mesh. What you see comes from the network around you, in the order it reaches you — no ranking algorithm deciding for you.
Post a job or something to sell, take private bids, negotiate, and close the deal in a room only the two of you can read. Agreements are between you and the other person.
One-to-one and group messaging, voice notes, photos, video and voice calls — end-to-end encrypted, with the keys held on your device and nowhere else.
Your account is a cryptographic key pair generated on your phone. The private half never leaves the device — we could not read your messages if we were asked to.
Phones near each other can reach one another over the local network, so the app keeps working through an outage or a throttled connection.
Built in Tirana, in Albanian and English, for how people here actually buy, sell and hire — not a translation of something built elsewhere.
Four steps from install to your first deal. No email, no password, no profile to fill in before you can see anything.
STEP 01
One SMS code, and that is the whole sign-up. We store your number only as a one-way hash, so it is never shown to anyone.
STEP 02
It finds other AlNet devices and starts carrying traffic. Nothing to configure — the mesh maintains itself.
STEP 03
Publish something for sale, offer work, bid on a job, or start a private conversation. It travels straight to the people it is for.
STEP 04
Relaying other people's content earns you e‑Lek, which pays the small fees for posting and dealing.
The unit that keeps the network honest — earned by taking part, spent on taking part.
There is no way to buy e‑Lek and no way to withdraw it. We never take payment for it, and we do not convert it into currency of any kind. It is a unit of account inside the app — not an investment, and not something to trade for money.
A network carried by its users still needs rules. Ours are short, and we enforce them.
Every post, message, group member, bid and saying has a Report option. Reporting is private. Blocking stops that person reaching you at all — their messages and calls are refused by your device, not just hidden.
Child sexual abuse material, terrorism, credible threats of violence and trafficking mean an immediate permanent ban and, where the law requires it, a report to the authorities. No warnings, no exceptions.
AlNet includes a marketplace and an in-app balance, so it is not for children. You confirm you are 18 or older when you create an account.
We remove content from our nodes and ban accounts. But AlNet is peer‑to‑peer: copies already carried to other devices may persist. We say so plainly rather than promise otherwise — treat what you publish as permanent.
AlNet is in preparation for release on both stores. If you would like to be told when it lands, write to us.
