AlNet — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the AlNet mobile app (the “app”), operated by Albanian Network (“we”, “us”), collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. AlNet is a peer-to-peer social network and marketplace. Questions: salesalbanianetwork@proton.me.

Information we collect

• Phone number. Used once to send you an SMS verification code (via our SMS provider, Twilio). We store it only as a one-way hash and an encrypted form on our servers — it is never shown to other users and is used to recognise your account and prevent duplicate sign-ups.
• Account keys. Your device generates a cryptographic key pair. Your public key identifies your account on the network; your private key never leaves your device.
• Profile. A display alias and any profile details you choose to add.
• Wallet & transactions. Your lcoin (Ⱡ) balance and transaction history, held on our network nodes.
• Content you create. Posts, messages, bids and similar content, which are distributed across the peer-to-peer network.
• Device & technical data. A device-fingerprint hash (anti-abuse), and a push-notification token (Apple APNs / Google FCM). To connect calls, IP addresses are exchanged peer-to-peer and call media may pass through a relay (TURN) server.

How we use it

• Verify your account and keep you signed in.
• Operate the wallet and transfers.
• Deliver posts, messages, calls and notifications.
• Prevent fraud, abuse and spam, and keep the network secure.
• Comply with legal obligations.

Payments

There are no payments in AlNet. lcoins cannot be bought and cannot be cashed out — they come into existence only when a device earns them by taking part in the network. We do not collect card, bank, or any other payment details, and no payment processor is involved.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data only with:

• Twilio — your phone number, to send the SMS code.
• Apple / Google — to deliver push notifications.
• Other users — only your alias, public key, and the content you choose to publish or send.

Peer-to-peer distribution

AlNet is decentralised: content you publish or send is replicated across independent network nodes and to other users’ devices. Removing content from your own device may not delete copies already distributed across the network. Please consider this before posting.

Retention & deletion

You can delete your account from within the app (Account settings), which removes your profile and wallet record from our nodes. Some hashed identifiers may be retained where needed to prevent abuse and to comply with law. You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing the address above.

Security

Account private keys stay on your device; your phone number is stored only in hashed and encrypted form; and balance changes are cryptographically signed. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

AlNet is not directed to children. Because the app includes a marketplace and an in-app balance, you must be 18 or older to use it — see our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age; if you believe a minor has an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Where data is processed

We operate from Albania. Data may be processed on servers in the European Union and by the service providers listed above, which may be located in other countries.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting salesalbanianetwork@proton.me.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
